PROJECT: LOS ANGELES UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT
FEMA HAZARD MITIGATION FOR CEILINGS, LIGHT FIXTURES AND ASBESTOS AND LEAD
ABATEMENT
LOS ANGELES, CA
The scope of work included detailed building surveys, design, preparation,
distribution and evaluation of all bid materials, contract administration,
construction management, coordination with structural engineers and outside
asbestos, lead and safety consultants, for 1,600 large and small structural
hazard mitigation projects in over 900 sites throughout the District. Warner
also supplied expert asbestos survey, evaluation, and coordination with the
District's Asbestos Technical Unit, and managed asbestos and lead abatement
projects, fire alarm and access compliance projects. Warner coordinated with
outside structural engineers and DSA, when required.
Warner's project management services included preparing contractor
supplemental prequalification bids, modification of contract language
designed to reduce the cost of change orders and eliminate claims, detailed
reports covering the entire unit's scope of work and schedule and funding
analysis.

PROJECT: LOS ANGELES UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT
THE NEW LIBRARY AT KENTER CANYON CHARTER ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
LOS ANGELES, CA
The construction of this new craftsman-style 1,700 square foot library
included reclamation of architectural-quality building materials from a
completed movie set, complete project management and construction management
services from project inception to completion, assisting in fundraising
activities, coordination with LAUSD, parent groups, local officials, CEQA
consultants, architects and engineers, and obtaining DSA approvals. Warner
also provided various access compliance and other school site upgrades and
supplied construction financing for the project. The level of quality and
attention to detail in this project demonstrate that it is possible to build
aesthetically pleasing learning spaces, safely and cost effectively, in
public schools.

PROJECT: LOS ANGELES UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT
SEVEN HIGH SCHOOLS AND ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS
LOS ANGELES, CA
The scope of work included detailed building surveys, installation of
rooftop multi-zone units provided by the District at 95th Street Elementary
and Banneker Special Education Center, design and installation of 21 package
AC units at Banneker Special Education Center, specification and
installation of timers and controls for units, boiler replacement at Manual
Arts High School, duct cleaning, condensing unit refurbishment and retrofit
of supply and return fans, lighting system design and installation at all
schools, football field lighting design and installation at Cleveland High
School, water saving measures, and preventive maintenance activities. Warner
also performed measurement and verification of savings all as part of its
comprehensive performance contract.

MOUNT VERNON MIDDLE SCHOOL

The scope of work included detailed building surveys, demolition of 2
chillers, installation of 1 new 250 ton chiller, new primary and secondary
CHW pumping scheme, new 2-cell cooling tower, installation of refrigerant
sensor, monitor, alarm system and evacuation fan ventilation system for
refrigerant management, new control air compressor station, installation of
4 package units and associated duct work, installation of a kitchen make-up
air/heating unit, lighting system design and installation, and preventive
maintenance activities. Warner also designed and produced a customized
energy education program for District students and teachers and performed
measurement and verification of savings all as part of its comprehensive
performance contract.

FEMA HAZARD MITIGATION LIGHTING SURVEYS, LOS ANGELES, CA
Warner has performed detailed surveys of LAUSD schools and prepared bid
packages for LAUSD to bid out the FEMA-funded portion of lighting retrofits.
Warner's scope of work includes providing customized survey documents and
LAUSD bid packages, and also providing construction management services for
LAUSD.
WTI also, under a separate contract, performed the hazard mitigation work in
over 180 sites.

PROJECT: US NAVY/MARINE CORPS AIR-GROUND COMBAT CENTER, TWENTY-NINE PALMS,

This Large C&I turn-key project, completed in 1996, included a complete
survey, redesign and replacement of the existing lighting systems,
coordination with the utility, project management, savings verification
metering and monitoring, and hazardous waste disposal.

PROJECT: CITY OF WALTHAM, WALTHAM, MA
Warner provided turn-key services including energy audits, project
management, installation, hazardous waste disposal and post-installation
verification, for the installation of energy saving lighting equipment at
schools and city facilities. The lighting systems included the conversion of
surface mounted fixtures to recessed troffers, redesign of gym lighting, and
exit sign lighting. Warner coordinated a utility-sponsored program which,
for many sites, funded 100% of the cost.
