COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECTS
From 2001 to 2004, Warner managed (solely as a public service) and was
responsible for all aspects of the construction of a new craftsman-style
library at Kenter Canyon Charter Elementary school. Responsible from
inception to completion, Warner carefully deconstructed a completed movie
set and salvaged old-growth timber and other reusable building materials.
Warner then assisted in fundraising activities, worked with stakeholders
(school administrators, parent groups, local officials, community members,
CEQA consultants, architects, engineers, and contractors), and obtained
state approvals. Warner served as interim legal owner (until the project was
completed), project manager, and general contractor. As part of the project,
Warner also upgraded the school’s handicap accessibility and converted the
previous one-room library into an art room.
Warner’s principals, employees, and vendors donated cash, materials, and
in-kind services to the project. Warner also obtained a California
Integrated Waste Management Board re-use grant, and supplied construction
financing for the duration of the project. The level of quality and
attention to detail in this project reflects Warner’s commitment to building
quality, environmentally friendly projects that serve the community.
More recently, Warner has managed termite and structural damage repair
projects for two independent schools, as well as the installation of a
central heating system for a three story school building. Warner has also
assisted a women’s shelter in the development and permitting of a new
structure, as well as in identifying and recovering utility bill
overcharges.
